Life Legacy
Daniel S. Placek, 28, of Niagara Falls, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2012 in the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo.
He was born to loving parents Dan and Cheryl (McMullen) Placek on January 23, 1984 in Lewiston, NY.
Dan graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 2002. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk CV63 in Yokosuka, Japan, until his honorable discharge. He was employed at H.W. Bryk & Sons as a Journeyman Plumber for the past seven years.
Dan played hockey for Grand Niagara Hockey Assoc. for eight years. What he loved most was racing motocross with the WNY Sports Committee. He was also an avid hunter spending time with his father at their family cabin in the southern tier. He was a proud member of the Buffalo Black Pistons M/C. He loved riding his custom Harley Davidson motorcycle with his club members and his father.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Cheryl (McMullen) Placek; his grandmother, Pauline Placek; his devoted companion, Colleen Martin; his Golden Retrievers, Yager and Chuha; cousins, Sara and Tom Doll, Julia, Jeremy and Kristin Placek, Rosiland and Jessica Brown, Aaron and Colin Clifton and Leah, Carley and Matt McMullen; and many aunts, uncles and friends. Dan was predeceased by his grandparents, Bruce and Joyce McMullen and Daniel Placek; and his uncle, Glenn McMullen.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-9 PM. Services will be held on Monday, at 10:00 AM, at Grace Lutheran Church, 736 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.
