Norman John Rainer, of Buffalo, died on Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, after an apparent heart attack. He turned 50 on the 24th of October. Norman was born in Niagara Falls on October 24, 1961, the son of Richard and Nancy (Pitts) Rainer, Sr. of Amherst.
He attended area schools and was a graduate of Sweet Home High School. Following his graduation, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Norman was self employed as a contractor, focusing on home improvements. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the arts including drawing and tattooing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Alicia Lynn Rainer of Amherst, Elizabeth Susan Rainer of North Tonawanda and Erie Matthew Rainer of Buffalo; five siblings, Deborah Chandler of North Tonawanda, his twin brother, Captain Richard Rainer, Jr. (Bente) of Rhode Island, James Rainer of Amherst; Beverly Zambito (Frank) of the Town of Tonawanda, Robert Rainer of Indiana; granddaughter, Julianna; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
