Biography
C. Doris Donley, of Niagara Falls, died on March 30, 2011 in Arkansas while visiting her daughter. She was 91.
She was born in Campbell, New York on March 20, 1920, a daughter of the late Clark and Lucille (Rising) Potter. She graduated from SUNY at Canton. Following her graduation, she worked as a dietician for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, for several years before raising her children.
A longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Donley took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her collection of dolls and her humorous collection of frogs.
Survivors include three children, Martha Jean (Thomas) Socie of San Diego; Florence Elaine Griffin (Thomas) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and the Rev. Bruce Charles Donley (Brenda) of Akron, NY; three brothers, Robert Rising (Lillian) ; Don Rising and Oliver Rising; a step brother, Bob Updyke (Gladys); sisters in law, Naomi Rising and Lucille Rising; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene C. Donley on July 6, 1986 and siblings, Burt Rising, Harry Rising and Clifford Rising (late Betty).
Friends may call Friday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue. Funeral services Saturday 11 AM in Riverside Presbyterian Church, 815 – 84th Street, with the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. Interment will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
