Biography
Thomas A. “Dooley” Dullen, of the Town of Lewiston, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Gates Circle. He was 77.
He was born in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1933, a son of the late James and Myrtle Dullen. Thomas joined to the Navy at the age of 17. He served in the Korean Conflict on the USS Leyete from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954.
He worked for various business before settling in at the Hooker Chemical Company as a millwright. He retired in 1998.
Thomas was an avid hunter, loved spending time with his family and traveling. He was always ready for a party and ready with a joke.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Jean (Dobson) of the Town of Lewiston; four children, Rick (Deborah) Dullen of Lewiston; Randy Dullen of Niagara Falls; Rodney (Alice) Dullen I of Niagara Falls and Tracy (Tony) Purgarich of Ransomville; grandchildren, Thomas, Patrick, Johnathan, Rodney II (Jill); Joshua (Sarah); Jacob; Christopher; Stephanie; great grandchildren, Aubri; MaKenzie, Brennan and Liam.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Dullen; four sisters, Martha, Langevin; Milldred Dullen; Marie Dziewiesz and Marion Bissell and a granddaughter, Angel.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 8 PM. The interment will be private.
