Our History
In 1948, Robert Lane, Sr., and his wife Ruth, founded the Lane Funeral Home, Inc. Eventually, their sons Robert T. Lane, Jr. and Merrell A. Lane joined the business and have continued to serve the community with honor and dignity.
In 1998, Robert Lane, Sr., with an eye to the future, took the unusual step of hiring the local husband and wife Funeral Director team of Gary D. Strassburg and Rosemary E. Messer - Strassburg. It was his desire to plan for the eventual retirement of his sons, by preparing his new employees with continuing the "Family to Family" tradition he so cherished. We are both honored and proud to have been his choice to continue his tradition of serving his community family.
Just after we joined the Lane family, Cooper Funeral Home merged with Lane Funeral Home, Inc., strengthening Lane's ties to our community.
After serving their loyal patrons for so many years, Bob Jr. and Merrell have decided to take a break from their daily schedule at the funeral home. They look forward to some well deserved family and leisure time.
Our joint 45 years of experience as local funeral directors and our sincere belief in the "Family to Family" tradition will allow us to continue to offer compassionate and professional assistance to you and your family.
We are pleased to continue our professional relationships with our lifelong neighbors in LaSalle, Niagara Falls, and the Towns of Niagara and Wheatfield.
We and the Lane Family wish to thank you for giving us the privilege of serving you, your family and our community in the long established "Family to Family" tradition.
